Phoenixville Area Community Services to Host Food Drive on June 5

Phoenixville Area Community Services is having another food “drive” on Saturday, June 5th, from 12-4 p.m. Cars can drive up to PACS on Morgan Street with a donation in the trunk or backseat. Staff and volunteers will unload cars for contactless drop off. Receipts are available upon drop off. Please feel free to reach out at melissa.threadgill@pacsphx.org if you have any questions. State Library Seeks to Archive Community Websites for Local History and Underrepresented Voices

The State Library of Pennsylvania is participating in the Community Web Program and is seeking the URLs for web pages, blogs, local newspapers, and social media for the local history organizations, minority communities, religious organizations, ethnic subcultures, LGBTQ+ information, and any other social organizations in the community to ensure their stories will be preserved for future generations. Chester County Single Mothers’ Virtual Conference

This year’s Chester County Single Mothers’ Conference will take place on Saturday, May 22 with virtual workshops and guest speakers on Facebook Live and Zoom. This free conference is devoted to empowering single moms in their role as sole provider for the family, with workshops on careers, fitness, mental health, entrepreneurship, creativity and finance. Discounted Internet Service Available for Eligible Households

The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.

Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application.

Chester County Survey for Participation in Community Activities/Events

The Restore Chester County Initiative has prepared a survey to determine the willingness of Chester County residents to participate in activities in the community and what would be needed to ensure residents’ comfort in enjoying restaurants, businesses, and events.

The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and will help guide all of Chester County’s local communities and organizations.
