Summer 2026 Reading Challenge For Early and School Age Readers
Join us for a summer of lots of fun and reading!
When:
Reading Challenges begin June 8 and end August 14, 2026
How to join:
Visit the library to register for your Reading Challenge Folder
How it works:
- Read however you like: books, e-books, audio books, graphic novels, fiction nonfiction, library books, your books, borrowed books, summer assignments, story time books. They all count!
- Record your time of weekly reading on your log! Scroll down for the reading goals.
- Bring your log to the childrens’ library and we will check off your reading as you complete each week’s level.
- For each week completed you will receive a raffle ticket toward prizes!
- You can earn extra tickets! Scroll down to learn how!
- The deadline for claiming and submitting raffle tickets is Friday, August 14, 2026 at 4:30 PM.
Early Readers
Birth through Age 5/6 years
- Read for 10 minutes per day for a total of 50+ minutes each week! (10 tickets max for summer)
- Every 5 titles you record on the title log earns you 1 ticket (10 tickets max for summer)
- Every activity you complete earns you 1 ticket (5 tickets max for summer)
(Readers can earn a total of 25 raffle tickets max for the summer)
School-Aged Independent Readers
Ages 6 – 12 years (or going into K-6 grades)
- Read for 20 minutes per day for a total of 100+ minutes each week (10 tickets max for summer)
- Every title you record on the title log earns you one ticket (10 tickets max for summer)
- Every activity you complete earns you 1 ticket (5 tickets max for summer)
(Readers can earn a total of 25 raffle tickets max for the summer)
